Above: P-Brothers Throwdown
Sometimes you forget how much the simple things can inspire you.
Paul+Pete played some great records.
Lots of nice people danced all night.
A Heavy Bronx Experience was had by all
.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: Site visit
Simon had to don a high-viz, wellies and a hat-hard-on during a site visit
to the public gallery eskimo* are looking at generating some thinking
around how the educational space in the gallery might look!
very exciting for us ~ props to Laura for the link.

Above: Stadium Typography
We were into Bill when he was shite...blah blah...blah...
But you can't argue with stadium scale typographics.
Pictured above is the good and evil side of the AA

Above: Dubplate Drama / Dubstep Drama
We don't even have a telly but we have been glued to the myspace waiting for the next episode of the groundbreaking interactive 'young peoples' TV show.
Big thanks to Sam at Livity for sending us the sound track as well, its all about Scream here today. Watch online at Dubplate Drama

Above: A Pelican Original
The Artist+Designer Paul Harroway gave this to us on a visit to his studio.
Its next on the list after Otl Aicher. The back reads: "This new Pelican is a guide to the saccharine world - the world of newspapers, films, radio, television and 'pop' songs, with their attendant advertising." Published in 1964 and its got a really rad classic cover.

Above: Talk, Talk, Talk.
Simon has been to so many talks recently, Champagne reception for the architects CPMG. A talk on 'Gangs' at the RSA London, these are great, have a look and a listen on the RSA site. And finally this week a seminar on Intellectual Property and Trademarks, not the most riveting. But Jack Lang from University of Cambridge was inspiring to say the least and he's really into baking and fireworks, what a guy!

Above: Information Overload > Mitte/East Berlin.
Imagine if you are someone who is facinated with typography, signage and Graff? Being confronted with this! Simon had to have a sit down in a lovely Mitte Cafe for a long time. Its hard work, honest.

Above: Prenzlauer Berg/East Berlin.
You can't argue with the concept of a chicken selling media.
Shame, in the UK it would probably be the colonel [with his wee beedy eyes!]
.

Grey concrete meets lush green.

Above: Kreuzberg /East Berlin.
Smart typographics create a very strong identity.

Above: Urbis/Hacienda Exhibition: Manchester.
Don't get Simon on the subject of Saville.
But we do love Urbis in Manchester the Hacienda Exhibition is a must.
[Soz about the photography, it was a bit covert.]

Also RDA's take note of what the Manc's have done with Urbis.

Above: 3 Architects and an Artist.
[they do have names but this sounded like a classic joke formation.]
Pictured setting up at the 'Talking Boundaries' Symposium at Arts Admin E1.
eskimo* spoke about 'Literal Abstraction' [sounds important.]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: Beautiful London brick, superb sign making
and modernist typography.
Phwoar!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: The Design Council HQ Bow Street.
eskimo* attended a evening of drinks with John Thackara.
We also met Bruce Mau 'institute without boundaries' Alumni.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: How strange is taking photographs of library index cards in the Architecture Associations photo library? Some beautiful slides of public housing,
the entire building resonates a powerful creative energy (that sounds shite)
its hard to explain, have a look/feel for yourself.

Above: We hate taking down the critwall as it means the project is over.
During a live project it is a constant source of inspiration.
This is from the LUX Photography festival.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: Ooh my days, this was a big day for Simon witnessing
the electro-dub legends:Rhythm and Sound + Paul ST. Hilaire (Tikiman)
A truly heavy experience for a Saturday afternoon in Great Yarmouth.
Simon even got a fanbwoy photo with him and Paul.

Above: Emma just got back from Berlin!
Where she snapped these snappy window graphics.

Below:Apparently this is a bar, nice typography to boot.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Above: Emma has been illustrating animals and birds for ages
but then it got well trendy.

we got this idea from the post office down the road on a sunny day.

Visual Identity
Haulage Livery
Simon loves haulage livery! no seriously
this was his first introduction to European typography.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Visual Identity
Accents and patterns
We are looking at creating emphasis through the use of colour, what we designers call accent colours. How much more does the red stand out?
